Smita Shah, MD, FCCP, Dr. Shah practices pulmonary and sleep medicine in both hospital and outpatient settings. She serves as pulmonary section chief, director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program, co-director of the Tobacco Treatment Program, and a member of the Cancer Committee at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Shah received her medical degree from Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai, India and performed her residency at K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai, India. She completed a residency in internal medicine at St Mary's Hospital, Rochester, NY, and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at Temple University Hospital/Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA. In addition, Dr. Shah is a clinical assistant professor at New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. Shah is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and sleep medicine, and also has specialized training in state-of-the-art modalities, including EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) and navigational bronchoscopy. She uses a wide range of diagnostic modalities and treatments to deal with day-to-day lung-related diseases, including emphysema, asthma, lung cancer and pulmonary fibrosis.
Dr. Shah is a recipient of the 2014 NJ monthly Top Docs award.
