    Dr. Rajan is a dual board-certified adult and child-adolescent psychiatrist with extensive experience in treating patients with eating disorders and other complex emotional and behavioral challenges. She specializes in treating teens and adults struggling with high- risk self-harm behaviors and chronic suicidality, focused on improving the management of emotions and decreasing impulsive, destructive behaviors through the use of multiple modalities including medication management.

    Dr. Rajan obtained a dual bachelor’s of science degree with honors from Rutgers University in psychology and neuroscience. She completed her medical residency in general psychiatry and her fellowship in child/adolescent psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts where she gained extensive training in solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and complex psychopharmacology. Prior to joining Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, she served five years as the associate medical director of a partial hospital and intensive outpatient adolescent dialectical behavioral program, adolescent substance use program and children’s program.
