    Dr. Serena Byrd is trained to treat all general otolaryngology issues, including sinus disease, pediatric head and neck, and voice conditions, and has expertise in the treatment of all head and neck malignancies, including oral cavity and oropharyngeal malignancies, thyroid cancer, nodal metastases, salivary cancer, skull base tumors, parathyroid adenomas, as well as melanomas and skin cancer of the head and neck region. Dr. Byrd takes a comprehensive approach that is dedicated to each patient’s overall wellness. “I cannot imagine a more rewarding career than treating patients with head and neck disease, particularly those with head and neck cancer”, says Dr. Byrd.

    Dr. Byrd attended University of Michigan Medical School, at which time she received an NIH funded research grant to study oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and salivary gland malignancies. She completed her residency in otolaryngology at Saint Louis University and pursued further training in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery by completing a fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where she trained under world-renowned Dr. Jatin Shah. Dr. Byrd has numerous publications related to head and neck oncology and has worked with some of the leaders in the field to help advance the treatment of head and neck cancer.
