Rachana A. Kulkarni, MD

Dr. Rachana A. Kulkarni serves as Regional Director of Cardiovascular Services for RWJBarnabas Health and Director of the Women’s Heart Center. Board certified in Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology, she completed her training in internal medicine and cardiology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Preventive Cardiology, she is recognized nationally for her work in preventive cardiology and heart disease in women. She has held leadership roles including Chief of Cardiology and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, and President of the American Heart Association of New Jersey. Dr. Kulkarni has been widely published, has co-authored cardiology textbooks, and is a frequent lecturer both nationally and internationally.
Philosophy of Care:
Dr. Kulkarni believes that heart disease is largely preventable through risk factor modification and healthy lifestyle choices. She is committed to advancing women’s heart health, raising awareness, and providing patient-centered, evidence-based care that emphasizes prevention.
