    Dr. Wenger is a graduate of the UMDNJ (now Rutgers) New Jersey Medical School and completed a residency in Pediatrics and International Child Health at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He then served in the US Public Health Service (USPHS) as an Epidemic Intelligence Officer (EIS) in the Hospital Infections Division at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA. He completed a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at UMDNJ-NJMS where he later served as Director of that fellowship program. His interests include the entire spectrum of pediatric infectious diseases as well as immunizations throughout the life span, health care-associated infection prevention, infectious disease outbreak and pandemic investigation and mitigation as well as public health preparedness.
