I am a board certified medical oncologist who focuses on treating primary tumors of the brain and spine, as well as metastatic tumors that have spread from other sites into the central nervous system. As part of the Rutgers Cancer Institute I am able to offer state of the art multidisciplinary care, including access to a variety of clinical trials.
I have extensive research experience specifically in precision oncology from my time as a visiting investigator at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and I am very passionate and invested in translational and clinical research for central nervous system tumors. I have authored several major research manuscripts, including a co-first journal article in Cancer Discovery exploring MET fusions as drivers of oncogenesis in solid tumors, manuscripts in Nature Cancer, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Communications Biology - a Nature journal, Journal of Neuro-Oncology and Clinical Cancer Research amongst others. Additionally, I have served as a prinicipal investigator and co-investigator and many clinical trials for primary and secondary brain tumors.
I completed my MD at the University of Ljubljana, in Slovenia, graduating with honors and my MBA at IEDC Bled School of Management. I subsequently completed my Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Medical oncology fellowship at Zucker School of Medicine/Hofstra, Lenox Hill Hospital, Northwell Health.
