    Dr. Milen Velinov is a clinical geneticist and a Clinical Associate Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. He is also the Medical Director of the Division of Genetics at the Rutgers Child Health Institute of New Jersey. His current research interest includes genomic testing and development of new therapy protocols for genetic disorders. Dr. Velinov is a member of the scientific board of “Chromosome Disorder Outreach” and the Rare Disease interest group at Rutgers. He serves on the editorial boards of several professional journals and had served as a grant application reviewer for the CDC. Dr. Velinov has over 100 published articles, abstracts and book chapters on various genetic disorders. For his research in Genetics, he received the 1994 Annual Fellow’s Clinical Research Award of the American Society of Pediatric Research and the 1997 American Academy of Pediatrics Resident research award. He has been included in the “Guide to America’s Top Pediatricians” by the Consumers’ Research Council of America since 2005. For his research he had received funding from CDC, NIH and Zynerba Inc.
