Dr. Michael LaSalle is Section Chief of Urology and a highly experienced urologic surgeon with extensive expertise in male reproductive medicine, erectile dysfunction, and reconstructive microsurgery. He has co-authored more than 30 research abstracts, publications, and book chapters in peer-reviewed journals and has received awards of distinction including the SmithKline/Boston Biomedica Award, the American Academy of Pediatrics – Pediatric Urology Best Clinical Research Finalist, and the Charles L. Brown Award for his basic science and clinical research contributions. He has also been honored multiple times as one of New Jersey Monthly’s Top Doctors.
A recognized leader in his field, Dr. LaSalle has lectured nationally and was the President and Founder of the Urology and Sexual Health Institute, P.A. in Florham Park, where he practiced for more than ten years, primarily at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. In 2008, he affiliated his practice with the New Jersey Center for Prostate Cancer and Urology, expanding access to advanced minimally invasive and DaVinci robotic prostate cancer surgery at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. He also played a role in the successful clinical and educational launches of Viagra™, Levitra™, and Cialis™ in collaboration with internationally renowned experts. By incorporating penile rehabilitation protocols with advanced robotic surgical techniques, his patients undergoing robotic-assisted prostate cancer surgery experience high rates of recovery of preoperative sexual function.
