Dr Goldstein began his initial studies in mathematics at MIT, and subsequently decided to embark on a career in medicine for multiple reasons. He attended the University of Buffalo for his medical degree, and then the Mount Sinai Medical Center and School of medicine for residency, chief residency, and fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care, and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary disease, and Critical Care medicine.

Training was followed by a rewarding career at Hunterdon Medical Center where he set up, and directed a fully closed intensivist managed ICU. In addition, he directed and developed an interventional pulmonary program including endobronchial ultrasound, navigational bronchoscopy, bronchial stenting, and endobronchial tumor debridement. After recuperating from a prolonged illness, he is now pleased to join the RWJBH System as a pulmonologist.

Dr Goldstein has maintained an assistant clinical professor appointment for 25 years at the RWJ Medical School.
