  • Dr. Kathie-Ann Joseph is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. She is Chief of Breast Surgery and Co-Director of the multidisciplinary breast program at Rutgers Cancer Institute and the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center. She is also the Associate Chief Surgical Officer for System Integration and Quality, RWJBarnabas Health, as well as Director of Breast Surgical Services for the RWJBarnabas Health Southern Region. 

    Dr. Joseph’s clinical expertise is focused in the field of breast diseases and breast cancer, providing the latest diagnostic tools and treatment options to improve treatment outcomes. She is particularly interested in high risk and locally advanced breast cancer patients and has extensive experience managing complex or rare types of breast cancer and conditions including inflammatory breast cancer, phyllodes tumors (malignant and benign) and other rare breast cancer subtypes.

    Grounded in empathy, trust, and compassion, particularly during the most vulnerable moments of a woman’s breast cancer diagnosis, she is committed to delivering patient-centered, high-quality care informed by evidence and tailored to each individual’s needs. With deep ties to the New York metropolitan area, she prioritizes improving access to comprehensive breast care and supporting patients at every stage of their journey. She believes that meaningful, coordinated care is achieved through collaboration, advocacy, and respect for each patient’s lived experience.
