Kara McAbee, MD

Dr. Kara E. McAbee is a pediatric urologist dedicated to providing compassionate, family-centered care for children with urologic conditions. Dr. McAbee completed medical school at The Ohio State University, followed by residency training in urology at the University of Kentucky and fellowship training in pediatric urology at Children's Wisconsin. Her clinical interests include hypospadias, hydronephrosis, robotic surgery, and complex reconstruction, and she is committed to sing the latest techniques and evidence-based practices to improve outcomes for children. Dr. McAbee values open communication with families, ensuring that caregivers and patients feel informed and supported throughout the treatment process--while trying to keep things light-hearted and fun for the younger kids. Outside of medicine, Dr. McAbee enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, watching Big Ten football, and going to concerts of any genre.

I strive to explain complex medical issues in clear, understandable terms so children and families know exactly what to expect. I am committed to delivering the highest quality, evidencebased surgical and medical care, while recognizing the unique needs of each child. Above all, I want my patients and their families to feel that they are cared for with respect, empathy, and trust (and a little fun for the kids!).
