Bio:
As a neuropsychologist I am trained in understanding brain-behavior relationships, including evaluation of cognitive difficulties and psychological disorders, how these might affect daily functioning, and identifying effective treatments and recommendations for addressing these difficulties. I have experience conducting neuropsychological evaluations across a broad range of referral questions, including traumatic brain injuries, memory disorders and dementias, developmental disorders, stroke, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, complex neuropsychiatric conditions, multiple sclerosis, and movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson’s disease).
I believe it is imperative to focus on lifestyle and modifiable factors that promote overall brain health and are related to outcomes in neuropsychological populations. This includes increasing social engagement and support, managing mood symptoms of depression and anxiety, understanding the influence of fatigue and pain on cognitive functioning and quality of life, and managing sleep difficulties. The relationships between these factors are often complex and interrelated and vary for each individual patient. I am a clinical scientist, meaning I engage in both clinical and research activities that both inform each other. I am passionate about translational research whereby clinical experiences inform research questions and cutting-edge research findings are incorporated into clinical care. Overall, I believe this moves clinical neuropsychology toward a model of precision behavioral interventions that can improve quality of life in the populations that we serve.Clinical Interests
