John Shao, MD: Director, Endovascular Limb Salvage
Dr. Shao’s clinical practice encompasses the full range of catheter-based coronary, structural and vascular diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, including head-to-toe arterial and venous interventions, aneurysm management, complex high risk coronary angioplasties, as well as participation of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement procedures. In addition, Dr Shao has participated in the left atrial appendage closure program at Columbia University Medical center. He has performed both LARIAT and WATCHMAN procedures. Dr. Shao is passionate about advancing multi-disciplinary care for critical limb ischemia patients. His expertise in endovascular interventions has led to expansion of the scope of advanced non-surgical interventions.
Dr. Shao is active in clinical research. He has been participating in, and contributing to, multiple clinical trials since his pre-medical school days at Mount Sinai Medical Center, as well as recently as a catheterization laboratory attending at Columbia University Medical Center.
