    Dr. Kirmani is a highly-experienced endovascular surgical neuroradiology specialist. He completed his Neurology training at Ohio State University and went on to perform fellowships in Stroke and Neurocritical Care at SUNY, Buffalo. He completed a third fellowship in Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School. He holds board certification in Neurology, Vascular Neurology, Neurocritical Care, Neuroimaging – CT/MRI and Interventional Neurology.

    In 2006, he become Director of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Program at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School. He was instrumental in starting and leading the first fellowship programs in Vascular Neurology, Neurocritical Care and Neurointerventional Surgery in NJ at the University Hospital and later at JFK University Medical Center. He joined JFK Medical Center in 2009 and built a world-class Stroke Center before becoming the academic chair of Neurology and System Wide Founding Stroke Council chair at Hackensack Meridian Health in 2018.

    Dr. Kirmani has received many regional, national and international awards in the area of his expertise and for his exemplary leadership skills. He was named as the Physician of the Year by American Stroke/Heart Association in 2017. He has trained over 100 residents and fellows. Dr. Kirmani has over 100 peer reviewed research publications. He has been an invited speaker at numerous national and local forums. He has a unique privilege of being the founding member of the prestigious Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology and Interventional Neurology and Neurocritical Care Society.
