Dr. Gupta currently serves as System Co-Director of Endovascular and Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is also the Director of the Rutgers- Neurological Disorders in Pregnancy Program and the Director of New Jersey Brain Aneurysm and AVM program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He is also Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Rutgers RWJMS.
He is an academic neurosurgeon with many invited book chapters and scientific papers in national and international journals, both in basic neuroscience and clinical neurosurgery. He was also the recipient of the prestigious American Heart Association (AHA) / American Stroke Association (ASA) ‘young investigator of the year award, for his work on transplantation of neural stem cells and neural progenitor cells in brain for stroke, in 2001. His research was awarded the Top 10 research advances in the world by the AHA/ASA.
