    Gary L. Kohn, MD, FAAP, FCCP, specializes in pediatric pulmonary and critical care medicine. Dr. Kohn's expertise includes lung diseases in infants, children, and adolescents such as asthma, cough, pneumonia, wheezing, difficulty breathing during exercise, shortness of breath, lung disease associated with premature birth, neuromuscular weakness, and genetic disorders. He also evaluates children who snore and have sleep disturbances. In addition to his position at Summit Medical Group, Dr. Kohn is an attending physician in pediatric critical care medicine at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. He also provides inpatient pediatric pulmonary consultations at Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center. Dr. Kohn is Assistant Clinical Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick. From 2006 until 2014, Dr. Kohn practiced privately with Pulmonary and Allergy Associates in Summit, New Jersey. He has been an attending physician in pediatric critical care medicine for Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, New Jersey. Dr. Kohn says, "Some of my family members were physicians, dentists, and social workers whose positive effects on other people inspired my interest in medicine." He adds, "My goal is to provide the best pediatric pulmonary medicine in the region. My approach includes friendly, responsive, effective communication with my patients, their parents, and their primary care providers." A sought-after speaker, Dr. Kohn has delivered local, regional, and national invited presentations and medical grand rounds on asthma and pediatric critical care. He is the coauthor of articles and abstracts that are published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Chest, American Journal of Respiratory Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Kohn is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Chest Physicians and he is a member of the American Thoracic Society. He is a recipient of the Morristown Medical Center Department of Pediatrics Teaching Attending Physician of the Year Award. Dr. Kohn is featured in listings for Castle Connolly "Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area," New Jersey Monthly "Top Doctors," and New Jersey Family "New Jersey's Favorite Kids' Docs." When he is not working with his patients, Dr. Kohn enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, cycling, and building furniture.
