Dr. Traupman serces a Section Chief Acute Care Surgery at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He treats a wide range of general surgical issues, providing both outpatient and emergency surgical care. He makes use of the latest technological advancements and evidence-based techniques, with a focus on minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic approaches that deliver superior outcomes, shorter hospital stays, and improved quality of life for his patients.
While skilled in treating a variety of surgical conditions, Dr. Traupman has a particular interest in hernia repair and complex abdominal wall reconstruction. He has dedicated significant time to learning advanced techniques from national experts, bringing new minimally invasive approaches to CBMC for patients with routine as well as complex hernias.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Traupman devotes considerable time to Graduate Medical Education. As Associate Director of the General Surgery Residency Program at CBMC, he is responsible for didactic teaching, simulation training, and surgical instruction. He also provides mentorship to medical students from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and St. George’s University.
Since 2013, Dr. Traupman has participated in annual surgical mission trips to Haiti, donating his time, resources, and expertise to provide care for patients in the mountain village of Milot. He is also an active member of the American College of Surgeons, NJ Chapter of the ACS, and Americas Hernia Society.
