Dr. Dennis DeBernardis is a fellowship trained, board certified Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in all conditions of the shoulder and elbow. He received his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Jefferson Health of New Jersey where he served as Chief Resident and was charged with overseeing residency research activity. During medical school and residency training, Dr. DeBernardis scored in the top 10% in the nation on his medical and orthopedic board examinations. Following residency, he completed fellowship training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Cincinnati Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship, where he studied with experts in the field performing over 900 complex and fundamental shoulder and elbow surgeries.
His clinical interests include shoulder and elbow replacement, fracture care, and minimally-invasive arthroscopic surgeries of the shoulder and elbow. He has particular interest in the treatment of sports-related injuries of the upper extremity in throwing athletes.
Dr. DeBernardis is actively involved in orthopedic research and furthering the field of shoulder and elbow surgery. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in major orthopedic journals and has been the recipient of several grants allowing him to present his research at national orthopedic society meetings.
