Dr. Basil Yurcisin is a seasoned bariatric and general surgeon, trained at one of the world's top fellowship programs in bariatrics and minimally invasive surgery- Duke University Medical Center in NC. He received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, IL 2003. He completed his residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA in 2007 and was then named Chief Resident. He completed Fellowships in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Duke University Medical Center Durham, NC from 2009-2010.
Dr. Yurcisin has the following affiliations and certifications: New Jersey Medical Society, American College of Surgeons (ACS), American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES)- Technical Committe Member, American Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS), American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Certified through 04/13 as well as Basic Life Support (BLS).
