    Dr. Parikh went to the University of Miami for both undergraduate and medical education as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education (BS 1989, MD 1992.). He completed medicine residency at the Miriam Hospital, Brown University, where he was twice recognized with the "best resident teacher." Dr. Parikh joined the faculty at the University of Connecticut Primary Care Internal Medicine Program in New Britain, Connecticut where he helped develop and implement the Teaching Office Practice program that helped a cohort of residents interested in pursuing careers in general internal medicine gain experience as junior partners in a primary care practice throughout their residency and was voted the best teaching faculty member by the internal medicine residents.


    Dr. Parikh joined the Saint Barnabas Internal Medicine Program in 2004 as assistant program director. He was named the associate program director three years later. In 2010, Dr. Parikh assumed the role of program director and led the program admirably until November 2012. At this time he has stepped down as program director but remains with the program as a core faculty member and mentor.

    Dr. Parikh is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Saint George's University School of Medicine in Granada, West Indies. He also holds an appointment as Affiliate Assistant Professor of Medical Humanities at the Drew University Caspersen School of Graduate Studies in Madison, New Jersey. Dr. Parikh has a passion for medical education and special interests in medical humanities and preventive medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
