Anupam Ohri, MD

Dr. Anupam Ohri MD is an Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology at Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She serves as the Associate Program Director for the Endocrinology Fellowship Program. Dr. Ohri graduated from GMC Amritsar, India. She completed residency training in the fields of Pathology at BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad and Internal Medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, NJ. Her fellowship training in Endocrinology was done with Dr. Paresh Dandona at SUNY at Buffalo, NY where she developed an interest in the anti-inflammatory effects of GLP-1 agonists and the use of these agents in patients with type1 diabetes. Areas of clinical interest include Diabetes and Thyroid. She is interested in the benefits of exercise physiology in diabetes and has authored book chapters on this topic. She is involved in clinical trials related to drug induced hyperglycemia and its treatment. Dr. Ohri is a member of the Diabetes Committee at the RWJ Hospital and helps formulate policies and protocols related to the care of patients with diabetes. Dr. Ohri is a member of AACE and the Endocrine Society. She is actively involved in raising awareness about preventive care for diabetes in the South Asian Community.
