The Faculty member will support the RWJBH & Rutgers Health Neurosurgical service-line. This position will support the Department of Neurosurgery in its clinical and academic mission.
Rutgers Neurosurgery has a neurosurgical residency program, an endovascular and skull base fellowship program, and hosts a vast campus community with undergraduate and graduate medical training centers at New Jersey Medical School in Newark, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, and at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Across our campuses, there is a wealth of clinical material with basic and translational research resources along with opportunities to train neurosurgery residents, and to teach medical students and fellows.
The RWJMS research department is headed by Dr. Detlev Boison, Professor & Vice Chair of Research & Training, funded by NIH and DOD grants. The following research programs are established within the Department of Neurosurgery: Epilepsy Research, Traumatic Brain Injury, Reynolds Family Spine Research Laboratory, Neuropathic Pain Research, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimaging, Neurostimulation, Cancer Research, and Clinical Trials. The candidates will be expected to contribute to clinical and educational activities with an emphasis on mentoring students and trainees.
This location also presents as an ideal area to reside within close proximity to New York City, Philadelphia, and the famous Jersey Shore beaches!
Candidate Requirements:
- Board certified in Neurosurgery (or eligible)
- Spine fellowship trained will be given preference
- NJ licensed or eligible for licensure
