Expansion brings coordinated specialty care closer to home for patients in Ocean County
RWJBarnabas Health leadership and local officials celebrated the grand opening of two new clinical spaces at 368 Lakehurst Rd. in Toms River, providing the community with convenient, centralized access to OB/GYN, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Urology, and Urogynecology services.
Toms River, NJ (September 16, 2026) – RWJBarnabas Health celebrated the grand opening of its updated, state-of-the-art Women’s Health and Urology suites yesterday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the Toms River Nexus Building. The multi-specialty ambulatory care facility brings an expanded range of specialty services to patients in Toms River and surrounding Ocean County communities.
The investment in Toms River is part of a larger, systemwide strategy to expand access to high-quality, coordinated outpatient care in convenient, centralized settings. The new facility builds on RWJBarnabas Health and Community Medical Center’s presence in Ocean County, bringing multiple specialties together to better meet the health care needs of the growing community.
“This expansion reflects our continued investment in meeting the evolving health care needs of Toms River and the broader Ocean County community,” said Aaron F. Hajart, MS, ATC, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Medical Center. “By expanding access to specialty services in a convenient outpatient setting, we’re making it easier for patients to receive the high-quality care they need, close to home and connected to the full resources of RWJBarnabas Health.”
Located next to the Community Medical Center, the multi-specialty ambulatory center expands upon existing breast and imaging services and houses multiple specialty practices. The facility will also introduce urology services, addressing an important need for specialty care in Ocean County.
Residents of Toms River and surrounding communities will have access to multi-specialty services provided by RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, including:
- Urology
- Women’s health, including OB/GYN, urogynecology and maternal fetal medicine
- Breast surgery services (2027)
