One Source EAP September 2026 Newsletter: Suicide Prevention Awareness

Suicide Prevention logo 2026

Each September, the mental health community promotes Suicide Prevention Awareness with tools and resources to encourage hope and normalize seeking help.

This year’s theme, “Connect. Support, Prevent.” demonstrates that we all have a role in suicide prevention, from learning the warning signs to reaching out and connecting with someone who exhibits them. A phone call, a text, or a cup of coffee to support someone who may be having a tough time can help prevent suicide. Every conversation matters and every act of kindness counts.

No one should face pain alone. Together we can create communities where people feel seen, supported and connected. We can foster hope, compassion, and understanding. Listening without judgment, checking in on loved ones, and encouraging professional support can save lives.

Timely, compassionate, behavioral health care, like your EAP benefit, can help people recover and improve outcomes for those experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors. Seeking help is a sign of strength. Employees of RWJBH One Source EAP client companies can call One Source EAP at (800) 300-0628, anytime of the day or night, your call will be answered by trained specialists.

Both the call and the services are strictly confidential

If your company would like to become one of our clients to gain access to RWJBH One Source EAP resources and network of licensed therapists, your HR manager may contact us at (848) 218-3337 for a quote.
