New Jersey Health Commissioner Dr. Raynard E. Washington joined RWJBarnabas Health at Harvest: A Farm to Community Center where we joined a wonderful group of seniors for an interactive cooking class. Commissioner Washington and registered dietitian Alyssa chopped and mixed Rainbow Grain Bowls using colorful, nutritious, local Jersey-grown ingredients.
The class was a reminder of the role food can play in building healthier lives and communities. Through our food-as-medicine programming, we’re connecting people with nutritious food, tools and knowledge to make healthy choices part of everyday life.
