Jersey City, NJ — Jersey City Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health hospital, honored 300 long-serving colleagues and eight retirees during its Longevity Gala on May 13, 2026, at Maritime Parc, recognizing the people whose years of service have helped strengthen the hospital’s care, culture and connection to Hudson County.
The event celebrated employees marking milestone anniversaries from 5 to 50 years of service. Across patient care, operations and support roles, the honorees represent decades of experience, teamwork and dedication to Jersey City Medical Center and the communities it serves.
In a hospital setting, long-term service carries meaningful impact. Experienced colleagues help preserve institutional knowledge, mentor newer team members and support the daily work that patients, co-workers, students and interns depend on. The Longevity Gala recognized that service across every part of the hospital, from those who provide care at the bedside to those who work behind the scenes to keep the hospital moving forward.
The Longevity Gala brought together employees, guests and hospital leaders to recognize colleagues whose careers have helped shape Jersey City Medical Center’s culture and continued role as a trusted health care provider.
Employees were recognized by service milestone, reflecting the year they began their careers at Jersey City Medical Center. The program also honored 2025 retirees for their years of loyal service to the hospital, including four retirees who attended the event: Carmen Rios, RN, Nursing Float Pool; Grace Gomes, Office Manager, Department of Surgery; Larry Lapitan, RN, ASC; and Violeta Canceran, Patient Access Representative, Patient Access Services.
For Jersey City Medical Center, the Longevity Gala was a reminder that a hospital’s legacy is built by the people who return each day to care, support, lead and serve. This year’s honorees reflect that legacy and the lasting connection between Jersey City Medical Center and Hudson County.
