Culture, community and a shared commitment to women’s health came together at Let’s Save Ma’s fourth annual A Touch of India fundraiser, held May 20, 2026, at Maritime Parc in Jersey City.

The evening supported Let’s Save Ma’s ongoing work to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention, early detection and women’s health, while bringing together community leaders, health care leaders, advocates and supporters for a celebration centered on breast cancer awareness, education, early detection and outreach. The program featured a fashion presentation with breast cancer survivors, a Bhangra dance lesson, dinner, a silent auction and honoree recognition.

Founded by Deval Gadhvi, MD, a stage 3 breast cancer survivor and primary care doctor, the nonprofit is rooted in a personal mission to help more women understand breast cancer, the importance of early detection and the value of timely screenings. With 22 years of clinical experience and a commitment to education, Dr. Gadhvi has helped shape Let’s Save Ma’s work around prevention, awareness and access to trusted breast health information. The nonprofit’s mission continues to support women and underserved communities through outreach, education and screening resources.

During the event, Jersey City Medical Center was honored with the Community Partnership Award, recognizing its longstanding partnership with Let’s Save Ma and its continued commitment to improving the health and well-being of women throughout Hudson County.

The award, presented to Jersey City Medical Center for its “Dedication to Healing, Hope, and Community Care,” reflects the medical center’s ongoing work to advance women’s health through education, community outreach, screenings, wellness initiatives and support for underserved populations. The recognition also speaks to a larger shared mission: helping more women access trusted information, preventive resources and care.

Accepting the award on behalf of Jersey City Medical Center were Jonathan P. Kyriacou, President and Chief Executive Officer; Audrey Mazelin, MHA, Assistant Vice President, Oncology; and Rebecca C. Yang, MD, FACS, Surgery-Breast, Director, Breast Surgery and Comprehensive Breast Health Center. Robert Winston, Vice President, Operations and Behavioral Health, Jersey City Medical Center, emceed the evening.

The event’s focus on breast cancer education and early detection aligns closely with Jersey City Medical Center’s work across women’s health and cancer care. Through breast health education, mammography screening, diagnostic services, breast surgery, oncology care and patient-centered support, Jersey City Medical Center continues to help women and families navigate important health decisions with confidence and compassion.

That work is especially meaningful because early detection remains one of the most important tools in breast cancer care. Let’s Save Ma’s breast cancer education materials note that breast cancer often has no symptoms when it is small and more easily treated, which is why screening and awareness play such an important role. Their materials also reinforce the importance of being proactive about health, knowing what changes to look for and talking with a health care provider about personal risk and screening needs.

For Jersey City Medical Center, the recognition is more than an award. It reflects the partnerships that help strengthen access, education and outreach across Hudson County. It also reflects the role community organizations play in meeting people where they are and opening conversations about prevention, screening, education and care.

As part of RWJBarnabas Health’s continued presence in Hudson County, Jersey City Medical Center remains focused on women’s health, cancer care and trusted community partnerships beyond hospital walls. Together, Jersey City Medical Center and Let’s Save Ma are helping advance a message that is simple and lifesaving: trusted education, early detection and access to care can make a difference.
