Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey Hosts Its 29th Annual Resident and Fellow Graduation at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center

The RWJBarnabas Health Facility Graduated 77 Residents and Fellows in 17 Disciplines

Newark, NJ (July 8, 2026) – On June 24, 2026, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center held its 29th annual Resident and Fellow Graduation Ceremony at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).

“Our residents and fellows are a true reflection of Newark Beth Israel’s commitment to clinical excellence, academic rigor and to the community we are honored to serve,” said Darrell K. Terry, Sr., MHA, MPH, FACHE, FHELA, President and Chief Executive Officer, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey. “They are well prepared to begin the next step in their medical careers.”

The class of seventy-seven residents and fellows have trained in a wide array of disciplines including: advanced heart failure, transplant and interventional cardiology, minimally invasive cardiothoracic and bariatric surgery, pediatric emergency medicine, disaster medicine, clinical pharmacy, and more. In addition to the hospital-based education, residents and fellows dedicate time to participate in hospital-supported community health initiatives, health screening and education events.

Newark Beth Israel in affiliation with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School offers medical education programs across more than twenty disciplines.

Graduates will continue their medical careers across the country and around the world—including placements in Puerto Rico and Malawi. A total of sixteen graduates will remain within the RWJBarnabas Health system—7 of which will remain at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
