RWJBarnabas Health was honored to host U.S. Senator Andy Kim and Lieutenant Governor Dr. Dale Caldwell to share how the health system is advancing robust, community-based efforts to combat food insecurity across New Jersey.
The visit included a community health discussion at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center with health system leadership, including Mark E. Manigan, President and Chief Executive Officer, RWJBarnabas Health, and Darrell K. Terry, Sr., President and Chief Executive Officer, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey, and concluded at Saint James Health, where RWJBarnabas Health operates a Food Farmacy. Health system leadership highlighted current initiatives and future plans, expanding on access to healthy food and health care, strengthening local economic vitality and addressing social determinants of health through strategic partnerships and direct investment.
