Kenneth Janowski, DO, CPEApril 7, 2026 – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Rahway, an RWJBarnabas Health hospital, has appointed Kenneth Janowski, DO, CPE, as Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Janowski will lead clinical operations and oversee the hospital’s medical staff to ensure the delivery of quality, team-based care. His core functions include effectively integrating and coordinating clinical services to achieve top patient-centered outcomes in alignment with RWJBarnabas Health’s mission and goals.

Dr. Janowski joins RWJBarnabas Health from Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where he served as interim Chief Medical Officer. In that role, he was responsible for improving physician engagement, strengthening the peer review process and leading initiatives related to quality assurance, quality improvement and professionalism. Prior to that, Dr. Janowski served as vice president of medical affairs at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia, where he led clinical oversight of physician credentialing, privileging, peer review and professionalism. He also previously served as chief medical officer at Bon Secours, part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network in Suffern, New York, and held leadership roles at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, and Hackettstown Medical Center in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

Dr. Janowski earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Life Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. He completed his internal medicine residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey, and an osteopathic internship at Union Hospital in Union, New Jersey. He is a member of the American Association for Physician Leadership and the American Osteopathic Association.
