West Orange, NJ - RWJBarnabas Health was recognized for its continued leadership and excellence in advancing digital health, as The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) announced the results of its 2025 Digital Health Most Wired Survey this week.
In the survey, RWJBarnabas Hospitals were ranked as a Level 9 Acute Organization, while RWJBarnabas Medical Group was ranked as a Level 9 Ambulatory Organization. This level indicates successful implementation of state-of-the-art technologies in innovative ways that advance the level of care across patient touchpoints.
“This recognition underscores our ongoing investment in technologies focused on improving patient access and the overall patient experience,” said Robert T. Adamson, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of RWJBarnabas Health. “RWJBarnabas Health has been recognized by CHIME consistently over the last few years for our efforts to harness the latest technology and enhance care across our communities – helping us set the standard for what patients should expect from a health care system.”
These investments in digital services include Epic Electronic Health Record implementation and, more recently, using Epic MyChart to transition patients to paperless billing. Together, these improve access to critical information for both patients and their care teams.
This year’s survey introduced a more aspirational framework and an updated methodology that reflects the rapidly evolving health technology landscape and provides a roadmap for future digital health innovation and strategic investment. Health organizations were scored against technological updates such as AI adoption, cybersecurity capabilities, climate resilience, and new emerging care delivery models. These enhancements measure capabilities with greater precision and allow fairer comparison among organizations of similar size, complexity, and resources.
The 2025 Digital Health Most Wired survey includes results from more than 50,000 care providers worldwide, offering a global perspective on how healthcare organizations are leveraging technology to improve outcomes, enhance efficiency, and elevate the patient and provider experience.
