On November 10, RWJBarnabas Health welcomed New Jersey General Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin and Rutgers University President William F. Tate IV to share about the health system's robust efforts to combat food insecurity across the state.

The visit began with a community health discussion at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center with RWJBarnabas Health leadership, including Mark E. Manigan, President and Chief Executive Officer; George Helmy, Executive Vice President and Chief External Affairs and Policy Officer; Balpreet Grewal-Virk, Senior Vice President, Community Health; and Barbara Mintz, Senior Vice President, Social Impact and Community Investment; and NBIMC leadership, including Darrell K. Terry, Sr.

The visit continued with a hard hat tour of Harvest: A Farm to Community Center, opening this winter, and finished at the Retail Pharmacy and Food Farmacy – a joint program between RWJBarnabas Health and Saint James Health. Our leadership team was honored to share our progress and commitment to addressing food insecurity with like-minded partners who share our mission to build and sustain a healthier New Jersey.
