Long Branch, NJ, December 8, 2024 — Between 200 and 300 riders from Creative Performance Motorcycle Shop, Belmar, the Blue Knights and Elks Lodge 128 Motorcycle Committee traveled to Monmouth Medical Center on December 8th for their 15th Annual Toy Run, which was organized by Bill Blakely of Creative Performance.
The motorcyclists arrived at the hospital accompanied by Santa and Mrs. Claus and escorted by NJ State Police and Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Eatontown, Elizabeth, Long Branch police departments and Flokis Custom Paint. They gathered in the parking lot to unload a trailer full of toys that have been collected over the last several months at locations throughout Monmouth County.
Additionally, Kathy O’Donoghue and a group representing the Ryan OD O’Donoghue Memorial Fund, which celebrates the Kathy’s son Ryan’s legacy of love, kindness and friendship, donated two large bins of items from the Unterberg Children’s Hospital wish list, including booster seats, high chairs and Exersaucers for use by pediatric patients as well as lots and lots of Legos for gifting during the holiday season.
“This type of event means the world to our patients – they get a fun gift, and they know that the community really cares about them and wants them to get better,” said Jonathan Teitelbaum, M.D., Chair of Pediatrics at The Unterberg Children’s Hospital, which is a part of the Children’s Health Network of RWJBarnabas Health.
