Recognized for Strategic Vision, State-Wide Impact & Improving Health Equity
West Orange, NJ, October 10, 2023 – Paul Alexander, MD, MPH, Executive Vice President, Chief Health Equity and Transformation Officer at RWJBarnabas Health, was honored by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of its 2023 Chief Transformation Officers to Know and Fierce Healthcare as one of just ten 2023 Influential Minority Executives in Healthcare. The Becker’s list recognizes executives who inspire, model, and implement lasting change at their organizations and highlights CTOs with exemplary problem-solving and leadership skills. Fierce Healthcare is honoring ten exceptional leaders who have had a unique influence on the health care industry in the last year.
Responsible for developing and driving key strategies across the system, Dr. Alexander is driving RWJBarnabas Health’s transition to value-based care. His role encompasses accountable care organization management, the employee health plan, and other resources dedicated to building the system’s infrastructure and advancing health equity for New Jersey communities.
Working in collaboration with facility-based and corporate teams, he has expanded the system’s social determinants of health programming; spearheaded injury prevention, employee safety, and wellness efforts; and played a key role in the system’s population health activities.
Dedicated to advancing the health care industry and sharing best practices with fellow providers, Dr. Alexander regularly speaks at national conferences and offers media commentary on relevant issues impacting hospitals and health systems.
