Jersey City Medical Center is proud to receive the Antimicrobial Stewardship Recognition Program award from the New Jersey Department of Health. Nicole Leonida, JCMC’s Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, received the award on behalf of the Medical Center, at a recent ceremony held at Middlesex College in Edison, NJ. These awards follow the observance of Antibiotic Awareness Week, an annual recognition hosted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) during the month of November, to raise awareness of the importance of appropriate antibiotic use to combat the threat of antibiotic resistance.
