Dr. Meika Neblett, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Academic Officer, Community Medical Center presented a Press Ganey session on March 15, Ending Racism Together: The Strategy and Tactics of Progress. Dr. Neblett’s presentation included a discussion on her leadership of Goal #1 of Ending Racism Together, the system-wide effort to address health equity and end systemic racism throughout the RWJBarnabas Health enterprise, with a review of the System’s organizational goals and major milestones achieved. She also shared insights on sequencing cultural change, the primary elements of Ending Racism Together, transparency, implicit bias training, initial feedback and outcomes and lessons learned. The session allowed participants to understand that efforts in the areas of diversity, health equity, inclusion, and antiracism requires strategic, intentional efforts and tactical actions to achieve success.
