Aug 31, 2022 Trinitas Regional Medical Center Now Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield Tier 1

Elizabeth, NJ, August 31, 2022 – Trinitas Regional Medical Center, an RWJBarnbas Health facility, is now designated a Tier 1 hospital for all Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (BCBSNJ) OMNIA health plan members in its service area, effective July 1, 2022.

“This is great for patients of Trinitas Regional Medical Center,” said Gary H. Horan FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer, Trinitas Regional Medical Center. “Through our merger with RWJBarnabas Health, Trinitas is now recognized as an OMNIA Tier hospital, and it is our patients who benefit.”

With the OMNIA Health Plan, in-network hospitals are divided into two tiers. In general, OMNIA Health Plan premiums are 15 to 20 percent lower than Horizon’s broad network plans. Receiving care from an OMNIA Tier 1 hospital, like Trinitas, means that patients will save money with either no or low deductibles, and the least out-of-pocket expenses, compared to Tier 2 hospitals or at health care facilities that do not participate in OMNIA Health Plans.

While all members of Trinitas’ Healthcare Partners Physician Health Organization (PHO) are OMNIA Tier 1 providers, some physicians may not participate in the same insurance plans or at the same OMNIA Tier as Trinitas. Therefore, patients are encouraged to check their physicians’ insurance participation and OMNIA Tier status in advance of receiving services at Trinitas.
