Bruce J. Haik, MD, FACC, FSCAI, has been named the Chief of the Division of Cardiology and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Saint Barnabas Medical Center (SBMC). A leader of the RWJBarnabas Health (RWJBH) Cardiac Catheterization Labs, longtime member of the Saint Barnabas Medical Center medical staff and member of the RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, Dr. Haik brings with him expertise in complex coronary interventions and one of the largest TAVR (Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Replacement) portfolios in the state of New Jersey. “Dr. Haik is a passionate leader who is dedicated to the delivery of outstanding patient care. His experience and expertise will further elevate and advance cardiac services at SBMC,” states Richard Davis, President and CEO, Saint Barnabas Medical Center.

In his expanded role, Dr. Haik will assume oversight of the newly restructured Division of Cardiology at SBMC, including Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology, Imaging and the Coronary Care Unit, this will add enhanced physician collaboration to the hospital’s fastest growing clinical service line. Working closely with the entire cardiovascular staff and both vascular and cardiovascular surgical leads, Dr. Haik will guide RWJBH and SBMC to reach new program heights.

Gary Rogal, MD, who recently transitioned out of the Chief role at SBMC to an expanded role as Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line at RWJBH noted, “Bruce’s ability to work collaboratively with the current team members, mentor the next generation of providers at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and desire to take the next evolutionary step for the program were key to his selection.”
