Sep 16, 2021 RWJBarnabas Health Elevates Seven Senior Executives as Part of Strategic Realignment

West Orange, NJ, September 16, 2021 – RWJBarnabas Health, the most comprehensive academic health care system in New Jersey, recently announced a series of systemwide leadership and management transitions, and expanded role responsibilities for seven key executives.

These senior team members have been promoted to the title of Executive Vice President. This action recognizes both the importance of their position, as well as the tremendous contributions they have made as individuals to the success of the organization.

Executive leadership elevations include:

Paul Alexander, MD MPHPaul Alexander, MD, MPH has assumed the new role of Executive Vice President, Chief Equity and Transformation Officer. His role encompasses accountable care organization management, the employee health plan and other resources dedicated to building necessary infrastructure. He will also oversee RWJBarnabas Health’s Social Impact and Community Investment (SICI) practice. Previously, Dr. Alexander was Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer.
Nancy HolecekNancy Holecek, MAS, MHA, BSN, RN has assumed the new role of Executive Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer. Ms. Holecek oversees over 11,000 nursing professionals, and leads the system’s nursing initiatives in strategic planning, fiscal decisions, patient satisfaction, care coordination, and quality. She has held multiple leadership positions in nursing, including formerly as the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.
Gail KosylaGail Kosyla, MBA, FACHE, FHELA has assumed the new role of Executive Vice President, System Financial Operations. In this role, she is responsible for the financial functions supporting the Medical Group, as well as Treasury operations. Her system-wide responsibilities include revenue cycle, supply chain, financial reporting, payroll and budgeting. She was formerly the Chief Financial Officer of the system’s Central Region.
Indu LewIndu Lew, PharmD, has assumed the new role of Executive Vice President, Chief Pharmacy Officer. She manages the pharmaceutical supply chain, ensures quality outcomes through performance improvement activities, and works to optimize the overall pharmacy and patient care environments. As the system’s former Senior Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer, Dr. Lew’s role has been a critical one throughout the pandemic.
DeAnna Minus VincentDeAnna Minus-Vincent, MPA, has assumed the role of Executive Vice President, Chief Social Justice and Accountability Officer. In this role, she will primarily focus on the importance of advancing the Ending Racism Together initiative, for both the institution and surrounding communities. Formerly, Ms. Minus-Vincent held the role of Senior Vice President, Chief Social Integration and Health Equity Strategist.
Trina Parks, DHA, FACHETrina Parks, DHA, FACHE, has assumed the new role of Executive Vice President, Chief Corporate Diversity and Inclusion Officer. This role supports the successful work of the Corporate Office of Diversity and Inclusion (CODI), focused on attracting and developing diverse talent, and engaging respectfully with RWJBarnabas Health’s diverse communities. Dr. Parks was formerly the Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the system.
Eileen UrbanEileen Urban was formerly the Chief Investment Officer and Senior Vice President of Treasury. Earlier this year, RWJBarnabas Health announced Ms. Urban’s retirement. In recognition of her vast contributions to the system—including establishing a world-class investment management and treasury function, exceptional management of the system’s $2.5 billion debt portfolio and serving as a mentor to countless system leaders—Ms. Urban has been named Executive Vice President, Treasury, and Chief Investment Officer.
