Lakewood, NJ – Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC) has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for our Chest Pain and Heart Failure Program Certifications in disease-specific management programs is awarded by demonstrating continuous compliance with Joint Commission’s performance standards. Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus underwent two rigorous, unannounced onsite review in October, 2019. During the visits, Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with each of the programs in achieving the Disease-Specific Certification standards. Areas reviewed included use of evidence based clinical practice guidelines, nursing care, diagnostics and treatment, quality performance measures and documentation.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

“This is a recognition of the expertise and dedication of the staff at MMCSC, who has introduced to the region, FFR-CT an artificial intelligence (AI) based noninvasive methodology to manage heart disease,” says Rajesh Mohan, MD, MBA, FACC, FSCAI, Chief Medical Officer.
