Sep 9, 2019 The Provident Grant Foundation Awards Major Grant in Belleville

Grant Funds will help support program established at Clara Maass Medical Center to meet health care needs of the Latino Community

Belleville, New Jersey The Provident Bank Foundation presented a major grant in the amount of $15,000 to Clara Maass Medical Center, a facility of RWJBarnabas Health, to support its Center of Excellence for Latino Health. The Center, which was established within the Medical Center in 2016, was selected to receive the grant based on its focus on improving the health care needs of the Latino community and its work to improve disparate health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity and cancer.

The grant was presented on August 15, 2019 to Mary Ellen Clyne, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Clara Maass Medical Center, by Jane Kurek, Executive Director of The Provident Bank Foundation, along with Laura Mendes, First VP/Market Manager of Provident Bank. The check presentation was also attended by Celeste A. Oranchak, Vice President, Foundation and Development, Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation, Elizabeth Bennett, Director of Development, Clara Maass Medical Center Foundation, Desyra Highsmith-Holcomb, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Clara Maass Medical Center and Frank Mazzarella, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Clara Maass Medical Center.

The goal of the Major Grant is to support organizations that have identified an immediate need in the community and for the individuals they serve. The Provident Bank Foundation’s funding directly supports efforts to enhance the quality of life in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania communities served by Provident Bank through three Funding Priority Areas: Community Enrichment, Education, and Health, Youth & Families.
