Jun 5, 2018 Montclair Executive and First Female Appointed to Medical Center Governing Board

Belleville, NJ - Clara Maass Medical Center announced the appointment of Mei-Mei Tuan of Montclair to its Board of Trustees. Tuan, whose term officially began on May 17, is the first woman to be appointed to the Clara Maass Medical Center.

“Mei-Mei has the perfect blend of talent to add to our Board of Trustees and we are excited to welcome her aboard” said Robert Gaccione, Esq., Chairman of the Clara Maass Medical Center Board of Trustees. Gaccione is also senior partner and founder of Gaccione and Pomaco located in Belleville.

“Mei-Mei brings valuable expertise, perspective and knowledge to the board room” said Mary Ellen Clyne, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer of Clara Maass Medical Center. “It is women like Mei-Mei that are helping to change the world, one board at a time, and I look forward to her insight and leadership” Clyne said.

“I am excited and honored to serve the hospital and my community in this capacity” said Tuan of her appointment. Tuan also serves on the Clara Maass Foundation Board of Trustees.

Tuan is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Notch Partners LLC, a leading provider of human capital services for institutional leveraged buyout funds. Since its inception, Notch Partners has developed a ground-breaking service and delivery model which enhances its clients’ ability to source, evaluate and execute private equity transactions as well as manage portfolio companies.

Prior to founding Notch Partners, Tuan built a successful career leveraging expertise in finance and general management. As a former investment banker at Goldman Sachs and Bank of America, she structured and arranged billions of dollars in financings for infrastructure and real estate projects both in the US and in developing countries. While obtaining her MBA, Ms. Tuan was awarded a public management fellowship to work at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) in Washington DC, a U.S. government agency that provides equity investment to infrastructure projects in developing countries.

Tuan also has operating experience in the non-profit world. In the mid to late nineties, she served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at the Sierra Club Foundation and the San Francisco Food Bank, both major non-profit organizations based in San Francisco.

Tuan earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College. She currently serves on the boards of: The Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: TBBK), The Harvard Business School Asian-American Alumnae Association and Montclair Kimberley Academy.

In the recent past, she has served on the boards of Friends of Thirteen (WNET), the Museum of Chinese in America in New York City (Co-Chair), the Wellesley College Alumnae Association, the New Jersey Women’s Forum, the Mid-Manhattan Performing Arts Foundation and the New Jersey Network (NJN).

A native of New York City, Tuan is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School and the Pre-College Division at the Juilliard School of Music.

She resides in Montclair, NJ with her husband and two children.
