Faculty in the News

Dean Roseminda Santee was appointed to the NLN Certification Commission for three (3) years. The CNE Commission is responsible for overseeing all aspects of CNE certification.

“Certification in any field is a mark of professionalism. For academic nurse educators, it establishes nursing education as a specialty area of practice and creates a means for faculty to demonstrate their expertise in this role. It communicates to students, peers and the academic and health care communities that the highest standards of excellence are being met. By becoming credentialed as a certified nurse educator, you serve as a leader and a role model. Certification is the mark of distinction for nursing faculty”. Congratulations to Ana Paula Grillo-Dias for Receiving the 2021 Trinitas Regional Medical Center Nurse of the Year Award in the category of “Excel” – May 2021

Paula exemplifies the role of faculty as both educator and clinical practitioner.

She is a member the NURE 131 faculty, and she also assists in NURE 232 (seniors). During the height of the pandemic, Paula worked as staff RN in the TRMC ICU, providing direct care to patients. She was a panel presenter at the recent virtual 2021 NJLN Convention discussing the perspective of an educator/clinician taking care of COVID-19 patients.

We are proud of Ana Paula Grillo-Dias for having been selected by a group of TRMC nurse peers to receive this Nurse of the Year award.

Congratulations!
