Union College (UC) Scholarships

In addition to federal and state funded aid, scholarships are available to assist qualified students to meet their educational expenses. UC Scholarships are applied for and administered through Union College.

Trinitas School of Nursing Scholarships

The nursing scholarships listed below are awarded to Trinitas nursing students who are in good standing, enrolled in clinical nursing course, and who demonstrate academic excellence and/or financial need. Awards are based on available funds and awarded to students based on GPA rank order or demonstrated financial need. Students must also meet further eligibility requirements specific to the scholarship criteria.

Applications for School of Nursing scholarships are available on the School of Nursing website. Please direct questions regarding School of Nursing scholarships to the Trinitas School of Nursing Office by emailing trinitas@ucc.edu.

Please Note:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for Trinitas School of Nursing scholarships.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.25 is required for Kellogg Scholarships.
  • Students who have been unsuccessful with a nursing course are ineligible for school of nursing scholarships.

Scholarship Application Procedure

  1. Complete the Union College scholarship application, click here for scholarship application
  2. Complete your FAFSA application. Click here to start your application studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
  3. Once the above are completed, click here to access our TSON Scholarship Application
  4. Email completed application to trinitas@ucc.edu by submission dates below. Complete application must include:
    1. Application
    2. Current transcript
    3. Confirmation FAFSA on File
    4. Confirmation UCC scholarship on file

Application Deadlines:

  • Fall semester scholarships: applications must be submitted by July 15th
  • Spring semester scholarships: applications must be submitted by January 15th

Important Scholarship Information

  • Students must also complete and file a FAFSA and a Union College Scholarship application with the UCC Financial Aid office to be eligible for School of Nursing scholarships.
  • Students must submit a new application each semester for scholarship award consideration.
  • Some scholarships require US citizenship as part of the eligibility requirements, permanent residents and eligible non-citizens may be eligible for select nursing scholarships.

School of Nursing Scholarships and Eligibility Criteria

JC Kellogg Foundation Scholarship
Kellogg Scholarships are made possible through the generosity the JC Kellogg Foundation. Kellogg Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis each semester to senior students who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25. Students must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident. Scholarships will be awarded based on the available funds to students with the required GPA. Students must submit a School of Nursing Scholarship application and meet the criteria specified for the scholarship.

Switzer Foundation Scholarship
Awarded each semester to female students who are US Citizens, who have legal residency within 50 miles of New York City, and who have a demonstrated financial need.

Trinitas Professional Education Assistance Program Scholarship(s)
Awarded each semester to students entering a clinical nursing course who have demonstrated academic excellence and/or a financial need.

Hetzel Family Scholarship
Awarded each semester to a male and a female student who demonstrate satisfactory academic progress with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. The student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Financial need may be considered. Eligible students will have completed their initial clinical course.

The Summit Foundation
Awarded each semester to students entering a clinical nursing course. This scholarship award is based on academic performance. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required. Financial need may be considered.

Janice B. Pasko Memorial Scholarship
Awarded each semester to a Generic program student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and documented financial need. The student must also show evidence of being a caring individual.

Richel Endowment
Awarded to a Trinitas School of Nursing student with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
