During his inpatient stay, he received 24-hour medical and nursing care, plus an intensive daily therapy program.

Justin has Hunters Syndrome, or MPS II, which is a rare genetic disease where an enzyme the body needs is either missing or does not work. Hunters Syndrome can cause skeletal deformities and developmental delays.

Justin suffered a spinal cord injury, which brought him to Children's Specialized Hospital’s Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital with a goal of walking. He worked hard with his multidisciplinary team and successfully achieved his goal of walking. During his inpatient stay, he received 24-hour medical and nursing care, plus an intensive daily therapy program. Through his various therapy sessions each day, Justin continues to get stronger.
