"He was gone for about two or three hours and when the doctors came back I was able to see him 30 minutes after. He can now run and jump just like any other little boy"

Meet Tanisha Anderson. Her infant son Omari, after more than 70 days in the NICU and 7 blood transfusions, was in need of life-saving surgery to repair a hole in his heart. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, where Tanisha is a nurse manager, partnered with the Children's Hospital of New Jersey on an innovative, minimally-invasive procedure to save Omari’s life. Today, thanks to that innovative surgery, he is happy and healthy, with a heart that beats just like any other little boys.
