RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute are transforming cancer care and research with a $1.5 billion investment in oncology services across the Garden State including the May 2025 opening of the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center in New Brunswick–New Jersey’s only and one of an elite group of freestanding cancer hospitals in the country–followed by the Fall 2025 opening of the Melchiorre Cancer Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston and the 2026 opening of the Specialty and Cancer Care Center on the Vogel Medical Campus in Tinton Falls.
Our multidisciplinary team of nationally recognized oncologists, nurses, and oncology support professionals provide the most advanced treatment options for both adults and children, and ensure a compassionate, comprehensive and personalized approach to diagnosing and treating your cancer. An oncology nurse navigator helps coordinate your care, answer questions, provide guidance, and serve as an important member of your team.
We offer complex surgical procedures, sophisticated radiation therapy techniques, innovative clinical trials, immunotherapy, and precision medicine – all close to home. We are one of the only programs in the state to offer blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapies for both adults and pediatrics.
Many of our clinicians are major contributors and leaders on clinical trials from the National Cancer Institute and international cooperative groups. And together with our NCI Consortium partner Princeton University, the longest NCI Consortium Cancer Center relationship in New Jersey, we are driving cutting-edge research and advancing scientific discoveries into clinical practice for an exceptional patient experience.
Our programs hold accreditations from national organizations including the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, American College of Radiology, and others.
Important cancer screenings including mammograms, colonoscopies, prostate cancer screenings, and lung cancer screenings are also available.
