    Navin Rajagopalan completed his undergraduate degree and medical school training at The Ohio State University. He completed internal medicine residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota before moving on to the University of Pittsburgh for a cardiovascular fellowship. Following completion of a fellowship, he obtained an additional year of training at the University of Pittsburgh in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation. Dr. Rajagopalan is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.

    Prior to his recruitment to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Rajagopalan was the Director of Heart Failure and Medical Director of Heart Transplantation at the University of Kentucky from 2009 to 2018. During his tenure, University of Kentucky Healthcare experienced tremendous growth in the heart transplant program, performing 30-40 heart transplants per year, as well as growth in the mechanical circulatory support program.

    Dr. Rajagopalan's clinical interests include peripartum cardiomyopathy, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac transplantation. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, playing tennis, reading non-fiction, and spending time and going out to restaurants with his family.
