    Alan Dembner, MD, Section Chief of Ultrasound Imaging

    Alan Dembner, MD, graduated Clark U. Worcester, MA. (1965-1969) as an undergraduate and Tufts U. School of Medicine Boston, MA. (1969-1973) for medical school. He did a medical residency at St. Elizabeth's Hospital (1973-1974) and Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital Boston, MA. (1974-1977). He was Associate Radiologist Divisions of Ultrasound and Computerized Tomography Yale U. School of Medicine, Instructor Radiology Yale U.School of Medicine (1977-1978).He joined St. Barnabas Medical Ctr. in 1978 as Associate Attending and became Attending Radiologist in 1984 when he became Chairman (1984-1986).While at SBMC he was section chief of Ultrasound in the Dept. of Radiology (1978-present). Dr. Dembner is a Associate Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (1984-present).He was the Founder and Medical Director of the School of Ultrasound Technology St. Barnabas Medical Ctr.(1980-1986) and then Medical Director when it was taken over by University of Medicine and Dentistry NJ, School of Health Related Sciences (1986-present). ( Clincal Associate Professor,Dept. Medical Imaging, UMDNJ,School of Health Related Professions 1986- present). Dr. Dembner was on the ACR Commission on Ultrasound (1978-1984) and ACR Commission on Human Resources (1982-1984).He has authored over 20 journal papers,contributed chapters in 2 books and edited 1 book. NJ Magazine awarded him 'Top Doctors' award the past 12 years among other honors.
