Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

 

Job Summary:

The APN is an independent health care provider who coordinates inpatient care through collaboration with the Physician, for general surgery patients

The APN provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee

This role is for the cardiology service line

 

Job Requirements (APN/NP):

  • 1-2 years General Surgery experience preferred
  • Current APN or PA License
  • NP Certification
  • RN License (if APN)
  • Current NJ state license, CDS and DEA
  • Current BLS/ACLS required

Scheduling requirements:

  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routine
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient care within a critical care environment
  • Performs admission assessments and appropriate treatment for patients
  • Performs appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testing
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively and demonstrates time management
  • Performs duties with minimal supervision and coordinates care with the physician, case managers, and other consulting providers,
  • Demonstrates effective communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Implements the policies and procedures of the practice
  • Performs assessment and reassessment of the patient according to applicable department standards and identified tools
  • The ability to compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care
  • Recognizes areas for improvement in policies or patient care, initiates change and educates all involved in change
  • Regularly communicates with nursing leadership and staff concerning patient care issues
  • Thoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing
  • Provides appropriate patient teaching as necessary
